How it all works

Stage 1 The initial brief

  • Please make an appointment with one of our designers.
  • As much information as possible is taken to establish your individual requirements for the space in terms of function, aesthetics and budget.
  • Appliances and materials will be discussed broadly, but no specific decisions need to be made at this point.

    Stage 2 Design fee

  • Once final measurements are confirmed and the brief is taken, a small design fee would be payable – prior to designing. Once the design fee has been settled, this initial deposit is credited to your account when you place an order; but is non-refundable should you decide not to proceed.

    Stage 3 Presentation of proposals

  • Your design will be presented to you, usually via e mail; unless you would prefer a consultation.
  • You will receive computer generated 3D colour perspectives of the proposed design. With this you will be able to gain a clear understanding or our ideas and recommendations together with the rationale behind it.
  • We will also discuss potential design changes that would be possible if you wish to proceed to the next stage.
  • Once the design is close to meeting your requirements we will prepare a quotation based thereon.
  • Once we have reached this point we hope you will have enough information to decide on proceeding to stage 4.

    Stage 4 Refining the design

  • If we have worked off plan until this point, the designer will now visit site to check dimensions and any specific details.
  • Design changes and revisions are made during further meetings or via telephone, fax or e mail until you are happy with the design.
  • An accurate quotation for the final design will then be issued.

    Stage 5 Signing of contracts and drawings

  • To confirm an order we require the contract / quotation and the drawings to be signed. The specified deposit payment is required at this point.
  • Final detailed drawings will then be completed and issued to all appropriate parties.
  • All components are placed on order from our suppliers.
  • Delivery is approximately 4 weeks from confirmation of signed order and deposit payment.
  • A suggested layout for plumbing and electrical points will be issued at this stage. Please note that these positions are a recommendation only, and need to be confirmed by the client and approved by a certified specialist.
  • An installation date is mutually agreed upon and continued liaison between our team and your contractor monitors the condition and progress of the site.

    Stage 6 Installation

  • The actual installation is likely to take between 2-3 weeks depending on the size of the project, and finishes chosen. This time is largely dependent on the stone worktops as they can only be templated after the floor cabinets have been installed.
  • Stone – preparation of the stone usually takes 5-10 working days following templates being taken
  • During installation our designer or site manager will attend site as often as necessary to remain in close contact with our installer, your contractor; and to answer any queries that you may have.
  • Your plumber and electrician will need to attend site during the final days of installation to connect the appliances to the services.

    Stage 7 General

  • Delivering and performing on time is vital to completing the whole process. Experienced and dedicated people are essential to achieving the required result.
  • Our installers are equipped with the very best tools and materials, ensuring that the smallest details are correctly attended to.
  • When your new cabinets have been installed you will be asked to complete our sign off sheet confirming the condition in which it has been left. An information pack including plans and contracts, appliance manuals and maintenance guides will be left for you on site.
  • To maintain your kitchen’s optimum performance we recommend an annual check by one of our installers. This service is at your convenience, at a small call out fee. Should any part be faulty, and still under warranty, it will be ordered and replaced.

    Payment Terms

  • Deposit: 60% deposit is required on confirmation of your order.
  • Delivery amount: 30% is required 2 days prior to delivery and installation.
  • Final amount: 10% is required once the installation is complete.
  • Any orders with a value below R10,000 require 90% of the total and the balance would be due on completion of the installation.
